šæ Official Statement from LuminPacific Engineering Team
Weāve recently noticed discussions about our UVB LED lampās spectral output ā particularly regarding the presence of UVC emissions.
We truly value this kind of professional feedback, as it helps us keep improving our technology and product safety. š
Hereās what our engineers would like to clarify based on our internal testing and optical analysis:
1ļøā£ About the LED chip technology
UVB LEDs use AlGaN (Aluminum Gallium Nitride) semiconductor materials. The emission wavelength depends on the materialās bandgap.
While we target a UVB range of 308ā315 nm, minor structural imperfections (such as lattice mismatch or impurities) in current LED manufacturing may cause trace photon leakage near 280 nm ā the border between UVB and UVC.
Our LEDs are selected specifically to minimize UVC output as much as possible.
2ļøā£ About measured UVC values
Spectral analysis shows that less than 0.4% of the total radiant flux falls below 280 nm.
When tested with a professional UVC meter (EVERFINE U-20) in direct contact with the lamp, a reading of around 6 µW/cm² can be detected.

However, at 5 cm or more distance, UVC becomes undetectable.

For comparison, similar UVB lamps on the market show 20ā30 µW/cm² at direct contact.
Since reptile lamps are typically used at a distance greater than 10ā15 cm, our product operates well within safe levels under normal conditions.
3ļøā£ About visible white light
We are also working toward using high-CRI full-spectrum white LEDs to better simulate natural daylight.
This improvement is already being implemented in our new models.
4ļøā£ About full-spectrum UVA
Current LED technology can cover most solar wavelengths, but the 320ā365 nm UVA range is not yet mature enough for stable mass production.
Weāre closely following ongoing research and will continue optimizing our spectrum design to get even closer to natural sunlight.
At LuminPacific, safety and animal welfare always come first.
We welcome scientific dialogue and independent testing, and weāll keep sharing transparent data as technology evolves.
