So far this light has done everything I've asked it to do!
If it holds up for a few years, I will be over the moon.
This UVB strip light does an excellent job creating a healthy setup for reptiles. The brightness and heat levels adjust easily with the remote, and the built in timer makes it simple to set a day and night cycle. The lighting covers the tank evenly, and my turtle’s basking area stays perfectly warm and bright. It’s quiet, efficient, and gives peace of mind knowing the reptiles are getting proper UV exposure. A solid upgrade from basic clip lamps.
There isn’t much to say about this other than that it works great for reptiles! The timer function offers several options for day/night cycle. I love that it has a remote for “lazy” use. I don’t have to go across the room to make any changes. It is perfect for my leopard gecko. He seems to enjoy coming out more since I’ve switched to this light. The cost was great for the features available. I definitely recommend. Easy set up and installation. You can’t go wrong with this light!
This light is HUGE and man is it bright. I got it for our Pac-Man frog Tofu and it has been a great addition. We do have it mounted above the enclosure and not directly on the top(it's a little much for a shade dweller, which is my fault not the lights) it does put off some heat so I didn't want to set it directly on the tank. Very well made and has some weight to it. Definitely a great value for the price. Compared to other lights I have bought this one is the best!
Very cool light! I'm using it for my bearded dragon enclosure, and it adds a nice, bright, daylight type of light to the tank. The light includes white light plus UVA, UVB and Infrared. You can choose to either customize the settings, or choose one of the presets for a variety of reptiles (bearded dragons, frogs, snakes, etc). The light should be placed 6-12" from the animal, so you will want to make sure that there are perches that the reptile can use to get closer to the light if your tank is deeper than that (which most are). One thing to keep in mind is that it's an LED - ie, it produces very little heat. That means you will want to supplement your enclosure with another form of heat - either halogen or heat lamps, or a heated bottom. Great addition to a reptile tank, though! Oh, it comes with a little card to test the UVB spectrum. Mine doesn't seem to do anything, so that's a neat idea but not particularly helpful. Maybe I just got a defective card? It doesn't work with this light nor with the pre-existing halogens.
